Or, visit the Beechworth Gorge, Woolshed Falls, national parks, the historic Rail Trail and gold diggings. Beechworth is host to many festivals and celebrations including Ned Kelly Weekend held in August and The Beechworth Harvest Celebration - 'A Feast of the North East' held in May.

Beechworth is the gateway to the Victorian Alps and host to some of Victoria's best wine tasting at local family owned vineyards. There is bushwalking, gold-panning, scenic drives and walks, four wheel driving and touring, swimming, fishing, golf, and bike riding.

Finding Our Beechworth Motel

Golden Heritage Motor Inn - look for the first Motel (on right) on the main road as you enter Beechworth coming from Albury/Wodonga. Beechworth is located in North East Victoria, in the south eastern part of Australia. If coming via the Hume Freeway, Beechworth is 3 hours drive north of Melbourne, 4.5 hours drive south of Canberra and 7 hours drive from Sydney.

The nearby rural townships of Wangaratta and Albury-Wodonga are 30 minutes drive away from Beechworth. Regular Melbourne to Sydney train and coach services operate through these towns, with connecting buses to Beechworth. Regular domestic flights operate from Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra into Albury airport and hire cars are available.
