Geelong is packed with places to go and things to do. The city's cultural precinct includes one of Australia's best regional art galleries and modern live performance theatres. The waterfront is home to another major live theatre, housed within the university's city campus, and the Ford Discovery Centre that documents the local history of one of the world's largest car-makers. Sport also figures high on the list, as the city is home to The Geelong Cats, one of the founding teams of the AFL, the national football league.

Geelong's favourite playground, historic Eastern Beach dates back to the late 1920's. Eastern Beach has a large shark proof promenade, a children's pool and beautiful landscape park with plenty of soft green grass, fountains and some lovely federation style buildings including rotundas, change rooms and a kiosk/restaurant. Over the last few years Eastern Beach has undergone a major facelift turning it back to the splendor it was earlier last century.

Geelong is the gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula of Victoria which offers many coastal adventures, delightful wineries and the spectacular Great Ocean Road with its famous ocean surf beaches including Torquay, Bells and Lorne.

Geelong is approximately 1 hour from Melbourne via the Princes Highway. Daily rail and coach services are available from Melbourne Southern Cross Station. Avalon Airport Shuttle runs a bus from the Avalon Airport to Geelong.

Parkwood Motel is located on the corner of Ballarat Rd & Shannon Ave in North Geelong. We are 3km from the centre of Geelong. If travelling on the Princess Highway (Melbourne Road) turn at the Church St overpass. This will take you along Church St, which then veers right into Ballarat Road.
