Things to Do in Bordertown

Bordertown is part of the Tatiara region near the border between South Australia and Victoria. Known for being the birthplace of our former Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, Bordertown is an ideal place to commence your holiday through the Limestone Coast region. Historically Bordertown was once an overnight haven for the armed guards escorting the booty on the gold run from Victoria's Mt Alexander diggings to the banks of Adelaide. Located 275 kilometres south-east of Adelaide it is now the commercial centre for surrounding wool, cereal, beef and vegetable producers.

The Bordertown Wildlife Park is a sanctuary for a variety of native birds and animals, including some rare white kangaroos. The heritage-listed Clayton Farm, which is distinguished by thatch-roofed buildings, now houses the records, relics and memorabilia collected over the years by the Bordertown District Museum.

Bordertown's Golf Club, located 6 kilometres north of the township, is the last fully watered 18-hole golf course before the Victorian border. The course is gently undulating, well manicured and has excellent greens.
