Marvel at the amazing 7 metre tall steel bottle trees that form a stunning colonnade down the centre of the building. Uplit at night, these trees are truly magnificent. Inside the Dogwood Crossing @ Miles is a Library, Art Gallery, IT Centre and displays telling the story of Murilla Shire.

The history of Miles dates back to the mid 1800's when it was originally named Dogwood Crossing and was located on the track blazed by the pioneering explorer Ludwig Leichhardt. It was renamed Miles in 1878 in honour of the member for Maranoa and the Minister for Railways at the time, the Hon William Miles. A variety of quality grain crops and some of Australia's best livestock are produced in this area. More recent times have seen interest in oil, gas and coal exploration in the area.
