Mildura is a charming regional town on the Murray River. The area is often referred to as the Mediterranean in the outback, with its picturesque citrus groves and vineyards, endless sunshine and the cosmopolitan feel of the city.

Cruise along the Murray River on an historic paddle steamer, paddle a canoe in the billabongs, swim, water ski or spend a few days exploring the river on a houseboat. Play a round of golf on one of the many picturesque golf courses in the region or take a tour of the numerous wineries in the region.

Mildura holds a variety of festivals celebrating the areas cultural diversity including the Annual Mildura Country Music Festival held over two weeks from the end of September, Australia's biggest showcase of independent country music entertainers, the Arts festival also held over two weeks in early March, set in a fine panorama of outback, riverside and vineyard landscapes presenting a unique blend of world class events, the Writers Festival with its three days of words, food and wine featuring Australian and international writers, the Mildura Cup Carnival held in the cooler month of May and the Mildura Jazz, Food and Wine Festival held in the first week of November, when the city comes alive with jazz in the streets, the wineries, by the river and on the paddle boats.
