Welcome to the Strath Motel, a brand new (4 Star Rated) accommodation in Strathalbyn, South Australia. Historic Strathalbyn is a 40 minute drive from Adelaide through the Adelaide Hills.

We have three types of rooms 15 standard which sleep 2, 4 twin rooms which sleep 4 and 4 family rooms, that sleep 4 (The family rooms have an extra, separate bedroom and a spa bath). Two of the rooms are pet friendly and fully accessible. All rooms have king size beds, the standard room has one king and both our twin and family rooms have two king beds.

Each of the rooms has an LCD TV, broadband connection, tea and coffee making facilities, iron with ironing board, hair dryer, reverse cycle air conditioning, microwave and toaster.

Things to do in Strathalbyn

The town of Strathalbyn, with it's Mediterranean climate, has a rich history and is an antique paradise for the avid collector, with a popular antique and collectors fair every August.

Strathalbyn also has a thriving arts community with small  galleries in the district where displays are regularly changed. You can enjoy the local art as you sip a Latte at one of the many Cafes.

The Angus River flows through the town where the Soldiers Memorial Gardens sweep the river bank. This is is a popular place for community events or to enjoy a family picnic.  With the historic stone, slate walls and old cottages you can see the Scottish influence by the pioneers who settled here. There are many old stone buildings with lace work from cast iron, a number of which are heritage listed.

Strathalbyn is a 40 minute drive from Adelaide through the picturesque Adelaide Hills. Travel through MT Barker then follow the signs to Strathalbyn, approximately 16 kilometres.
