There are 3 Holiday Cottages with 1 and 2 bedroom floorpans sleeping up to 6 guests. All cottages have spacious/open plan living areas, with fully equipped fully self contained kitchens. Cottage 3 has disabled access facilities as well as a second toilet and laundry. Tucked away are barbecue facilities you're free to use. Cyprus and birch trees, grasses and rushes, native trees and shrubs add to the atmosphere and ensure your privacy.

A cosy wood heater in the living area provides ample heating while creating a special ambience. All Cottages have a television and DVD player and parking for 2 cars. All bedroom, bathroom linen and accessories are supplied.

Things to do in the Strzelecki Ranges area of Gippsland

Whether your preference for restaurants are formal or casual, you'll find Mirboo North offers a lot of variety including the award winning Grand Ridge Brewery. However, all accommodation at Birchwood Retreat Country Cottages have complete modern well equipped kitchens. We also private barbecue areas where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bush surrounds without travelling.

Birchwood Retreat has an expansive property with its own walking tracks through tranquil fern gullies and native bush. View the 300 year old gum trees scattered throughout the Retreat, then walk through the back gate to the Strzelecki State Forest.

The Strzelecki Ranges and Tarra Bulga National Park are a bush walker's heaven. The Mirboo North to Boolarra Rail Trail winds along 12 kilometres beautiful country in the Strzelecki Ranges in Gippsland. This trail follows the railway track between Mirboo North and Boolarra, and also having easy access along the track at Darlimurla.

A drive on the Grand Ridge Road takes you on a journey along the top of the Strzelecki Ranges. Mirboo North has historical and picturesque buildings, local art galleries and craft shops and a country market. An excellent golf course, fishing, swimming - Mirboo North has it all.

Finding our Mirboo North Accommodation

Gippsland is region in the eastern part of Victoria. Birchwood Retreat Country Cottages are a 2 hours of easy driving from Melbourne. From Melbourne, the quickest way to get to Mirboo North by car is south-east along the Monash Freeway (M1).

From the M1, take the Cranbourne & Phillip Island exit (M420) on to the South Gippsland Highway. Continue on the M420 for approx 34 km then take the Korumburra and Leongatha exit (Route A440). When you reach Leongatha take Morwell Road to Mirboo North (approx 26 km). Upon arriving in Mirboo North, travel along the main street and take the Morwell B460 turn off on the left hand side just before the hardware store. Proceed 3 km along the Strzelecki Hwy and you will see the entrance to Birchwood Retreat on the left hand side of the road. (opposite Muirhead Drive). Travel up the hill through the canopy of native trees. Birchwood Retreat Country Cottages will be visible on your right hand side.
