After the drive up the Great Ocean Road, you can park your car and walk to everything in Port Campbell. A short stroll takes you to Port Campbell bay and the fisherman’s pier where you can fishing boats coming in off the Southern Ocean to our protected harbour. You can buy fish and lobster and bring it back to BBQ at the motel, or enjoy an interesting array of dining as you watch the sunset from one of many local restaurants. Things to Do in Port Campbell
Most people are charging up the Great Ocean Road trying to see the main sites like the 12 Apostles, Cape Otway and Lochard Gorge. If they are lucky, they'll have time to take a break and enjoy the peace and quiet found in Port Campbell. This little fishing village provides a natural harbour for a small fleet of boats bringing in a daily catch from the wild Southern Ocean.
The cliffs around Port Campbell provide some stunning walks. The Discovery walk up to Two Mile Bay takes you along the cliff edge, through the bush, and opens up to spectacular views of the Southern Ocean, Port Campbell Bay, and amazing views of the 12 Apostles to the east. You'll see a unique native vegetation and in the right time of year you might see whales breaching and dolphins playing in the waves. Even winters provide spectacular scenes and brisk and beautiful walks. A walk to Beacon Point after dark will be an event to remember as you see the Southern Cross amongst an amazing stars that blaze across the sky because there are no city lights to dim your view of the heavens.
