Things to Do in Cape Bridgewater
Cape Bridgewater is 15 minutes from Portland near the Victoria and South Australia border making this remote coastal village the Grand Finale of the Great Ocean Road.
Cape Bridgewater is a scenic jewel in Victoria's rugged Western coastline with some of the highest coastal cliffs in Victoria overlooking the deep-blue waters of Bridgewater Bay.
Perfect waves roll in from the Southern Ocean onto the white sand beach between the volcanic headlands of Cape Nelson and Cape Bridgewater.
Take in the surreal landscape of the petrified forest which looks like a forest of tree roots turned into rock. Take a short drive to the Cape Bridgewater headland to see the sea spray blast skyward from the 'blowhole'. Or better yet, take the coastal footpath from town out the the headland where there is a resident colony of fur seals that you can see from a look out above on your way around to the Blowhole.
Cape Bridgewater is practically deserted for most of the year, apart from residents who surely bask in the peace and unspoiled beauty.
