The Haven Caravan Park in Laurieton
The Haven Caravan Park in Laurieton is in a quiet location next to the Camden River. With flat grassed land and an abundance of shade trees, this caravan park provides an ideal place to camp with tents or powered sites for caravans in addition to offer Standard and 2 Bedroom Cabins. Guests can walk to the Laurieton shopping centre and clubs.
The river and water ways are a major attraction of Haven Caravan Park. You can launch boats from nearby ramps and enjoy the vast inland waterways going south from Camden Haven Inlet to Watson Taylor Lake to the south and Queens Lake to the north.
Haven Caravan Park has powered caravan sites with concrete pads for the annexe that are connected to town water and sewer. We also have cabins which are ideal for the overnight stays or long holidays. Linen can be hired at $12.50 per bed or you can use your own.
- Standard Cabins - One bedroom, fully self-contained accommodation. These are spacious cabins with a queen size bed in the bedroom and double bunks in the interconnection and a sofa bed in the lounge. Cots can be hired. All Cabins have split system air-conditioning.
- Two Bedroom Cabins - Two bedroom, fully self-contained accommodation. These are spacious cabins with double bed in the first bedroom and 2 single bunks in the second bedroom. Cots can be hired. All cabins haves split system air-conditioners.
National Parks in the Camden Haven Region
- Boorganna Nature Reserve - Rawsons Falls: a remnant of the rainforests of the Comboyne Plateau that covered the region before settlement. Mumfords Creek dominates the reserve occupying a steep gully more than 400 metres below the lower Rawson Falls. The area is rich in native wildlife.
- Coorabakh National Park - Flat Rock Lookout: The Coopernook Forest Way, west of Johns River, winds through Coorabakh National Park featuring 3 volcanic outcrops (Big Nellie, Flat Nellie & Little Nellie) and sandstone cliffs and escarpments that ring the Lansdowne and Manning Valleys.
- Crowdy Head - Kylies Hut: features rugged coastline, sweeping beaches, rocky headlands, sand plains, wetlands and heathlands of Crowdy Head National Park. From Diamond Head the view stretches south across Crowdy Bay, west to the mountains and forests of the hinterland and north to Perpendicular Point.
- Dooragan National Park - North Brother Mountain: North Brother is the highest peak in the area with views overlooking the Camden River area. You can drive to the top of North Brother via the Captain Cook Bicentenary Drive where you'll find picnic tables, barbecues and a viewing platforms overlooking the area. There are 3 walks - the Rainforest Loop, the Top Track and the Laurieton Track which takes you all the way back to Laurieton. North Brother is renown for hang gliding.
- Kattang Nature Reserve: is best known for the Kattang Flower Bowl walk which combines coastal scenery with a rainforest. In winter, it is common to see whales passing as they migrate to and from the warmer waters to the north. There are 2 one hour walks: one goes to Perpendicular Point and while, the Flower Bowl Loop, goes thru coastal tea tree forests and wildflower heaths.
- Sea Acres Nature Reserve: Located at Shelly Beach in Port Macquarie, Sea Acres has 1.2km elevated rainforest boardwalk where the rainforest meets the sea plus a cafe and souvenir shop.
Finding our Laurieton Accommodation
Travelling north from Sydney on the Pacific Hwy, take the Kew exit and continue for 9 kms until you get to Laurieton. Turn left at Ocean Drive and take the third right onto George St and the first left into Arnott St where you'll see Haven Caravan Park.
