The Stoney Water Park features 2 two man-made lakes, which have been purpose built for waterskiing and wakeboarding as well as access to the Wilson River. Located halfway between Port Macquarie and Kempsey.
Stoney Park is a family business created by former pro skier and now full time waterski coach - Jason Stone. After skiing and competing for many years overseas, Jason returned to Australia with the idea of build a specialised park catering to the needs of water skiing and wake boarding.
Stoney Park has a wide range of accommodation for all budgets and needs with accommodation for the independent traveller who prefers self contained accommodation, to camping and caravan park stlye accommodation with unpowered and powered campsites as well as dorm accommodation for groups. All our new cabins have private ensuite facilities with waterfront access to the lake.
Stoney Park is also a dog friendly accommodation. Our convenient location next to the Pacific Highway makes Stoney Park a great stopover accommodation for anyone traveling the North Coast of NSW.
Water Skiing and Wakeboarding at Stoney Park
The 2 lakes at Stoney Park have been carefully constructed at right angles to each other to give you the best wind and sun conditions throughout the day. Each lake is 720 metres long and 60-80 metres wide with a depth of 1.5 metres.
Both lakes are set up with slalom courses and jumps which are surveyed. The front Lake is fully equipped with a range of sliders and kickers for all levels of Wakeboarders. Conditions are perfect for people learning to ski.
An undercover boat dock has been constructed on the side of the Eastern Lake, and a huge two-storey boat dock on the side of the Western Lake. This second boat dock is fully equipped with two drive in parking bays for the boats and has ample viewing areas from both the open decking on the lower level and from the verandah on the upper level.
The lakes at Stoney Park are designed to create optimum conditions for competitors and judges as well as providing excellent viewing for spectators. Stoney Park regularly hosts competitions such as National Australian Waterski Championships, National Australian Wakeboard Championship, as well as state and regional tournaments.
Finding our Telegraph Point Accommodation
Stoney Park is located at Telegraph Point, just north of Port Macquarie adjacent to the Pacific Highway on the main Sydney to Brisbane Route.
Heading North from Port Macquarie: Take the Pacific Highway and travel for approx 10 minutes past Port Macquarie. Their will be a NEUMANNS service station on your left, continue on the highway and take the next left at the Telegraph Point Sports Club (approximately 500 metres past the petrol station) - HACKS FERRY RD, follow the road around to the right and the main entrance to Stoney Park will be on the right, under the bridge.
Heading South from Brisbane or Kempsey: Stoney Park is approx 25 min south of Kempsey. Follow the Pacific Highway across the large bridge at Telegraph Point (Wilson's River Bridge) take the first right HACKS FERRY RD, follow the road around to the right and the main entrance to Stoney Park will be on the right under the bridge.
