Biloela

Biloela QLD is 120 kilometres inland from Gladstone in Central Queensland. Biloela has a population of under 6,000 and is the administrative centre for the Banana Shire. The Callide Power Stations and coal mines at at the nearby Callide and Boundary Hill mines are the major local industry. Agriculture (cattle, cotton, sorghum and wheat) and Teys Brothers Abattoirs are also important to Biloela's economic health.

Biloela is at the crossing of two major Queensland Highways: the north-south Burnett Hwy and the east-west Dawson Hwy. By plane, Biloela is just over an hour's flight from Brisbane. By car, 2 hours drive from Rockhampton and Gladstone.

Biloela has a high school (Biloela State High School) and three primary schools: Redeemer Lutheran Primary, St Joseph's Catholic Primary,and Biloela State Primary.
