Swan Hill

Swan Hill Victoria is in the north west of the state, situated on the Murray River about halfway between Echuca and Mildura on the Murray Valley Highway. Swan Hill sits at the junction of the Little Murray River and downstream from the Loddon River making this area one of the more interesting places to explore the Murray River.

Swan Hill, like Euchuca and other Victorian towns celebrates their history with a number of attractions such as Pioneer Settlement, Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery, old homesteads, and daily Murray River cruises on the 105-year-old Paddle Steamer Pyap. Swan Hill is a great place to hire a houseboat and spend a few lazy days in search of the Murray River Cod, quiet sunsets and simply drifting thru Australia's heartland. With an enjoyable summer climate, Swan Hill has 6 golf courses, bush walking in the Vinifera and Nyah state forests, numerous wineries and restaurants and boutique hotels and B&B's.

Swan Hill is an active sporting region with the Central Murray Football League, home of the Swan Hill "Swans" and the Tyntynder "Bulldogs". Soccer is very popular over 500 children in the Swan Hill Junior Soccer League. Like many regional Australian towns, Swan Hill Jockey Club has a full schedule of horse racing events.
