Albury Wodonga (NSW)
Albury is on the New South Wales border just across the Murray River from Wodonga, Victoria. The Albury Wondonga Region is midway along Australia's busiest inland corridor between Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne at the junction of the Hume Highway and Riverina and Kiewa Valley Highways.
The Murray River winds its way through rich farmlands, rolling hills and valleys extending all the way to the ocean. Paddle steamers once provided transport and trade on the Murray River starting in 1855. Albury Wodonga still retains the relaxed and attractive lifestyle where visitors can enjoy the many local art galleries and museums, and abundant local produce, gourmet foods and fine wines of the area.
The Albury Wodonga Regional Wine and Food Festival is held in September, and the world famous Rutherglen Wine Region is only a half hour drive.
