Woolgoolga
Woolgoolga is a small coastal village 15 minutes north of Coffs Harbour. Beautiful beaches, banana-clad hills and a distinctive Indian Sikh architecture defines Woolgoolga.
Despite Woolgoolga's small population, you'll find an abundance of restaurants and cafes - many of which serve Indian Cuisine. A special occasion to enjoy while in the area is Woolgoolga's Curry Festival held annually on the Sikh New Year, the festival of Vaisakhi, a special day in Woolgoolga celebrating local multi-culturalism with great food and wonderful music and dance. The 'CurryFest' is held in April.
Experience Woolgoolga's village life and visit the Guru Nanak Sikh temple, art gallery, cafes and restaurants. Play tennis, golf, bowls or croquet. Other attractions in the area include The Big Banana, The Clog Barn, George's Gold Mine, the Opal Centre, 4WD beaches, scuba diving and the Pet Porpoise Pool in Coffs Harbour.
Visit Wedding Bells State Forest or get off the beaten track and explore the subtropical rainforest and large open grassy areas along the walking track in the Woolgoolga Creek Flora Reserve - home to more than 80 species of birds. Rest alongside the beautiful waterfall as it cascades over the rocks.
