Byron Bay is a popular destination for Wedding Celebrations and when you've got weddings, you have Hen's Nights for the Girls and Stag Parties for the Boys.
Here in Australia, a Hen's Party is a celebration held for a woman who is about to be married. A bit like a bachelor party held for men, but in this case a bachelorette party. So, the bride to be is taken out for a wild time with her bridesmaids and friends so that she can party one last time before getting hitched.
Obviously, a Byron Bay Hens Nights can lead to some pretty crazy activities, but not eveyone wants to wake up under a strange verandah with a dog licking their face and no memory of how they got there.
Byron Bay Art Celebrations bring a classy start to any Hen's Night Out that combines fun, art and a little excitement with beautiful nude male models.
Shobhan Oliver is an established Byron Bay artist that has combined her passion for teaching art with having a really fun time. She leads a class for up to 18 girls where you'll spend 3 hours drawing male nudes at her beautiful Byron bay art studio. You can also arrange groups in other locations.
The best thing about this type of Hens celebration is that you can start your night with a bonding experience where the girls can let down there guard, have a laugh and get to know each other before the big night on the town starts.
All art materials, instruction, drinks and nibbles, and a lot of laughs are supplied. The models are always beautiful and you can take as long as you need to get all their details dowqn on paper.

Safe Swimming on Australian Beaches Avoiding the Rips
| Australian Travel Tips |
Going to the beach is one of the main past times in Australia. Many popular beaches are patrolled by surf live saving clubs, but in fact of the 11,000 beaches in Australia only 3 percent of beaches are monitored by life guards.
Learning How to Spot Rip Currents
Rip currents are the greatest hazards on our beaches. This national award-winning video presented by Dr Rob Brander of University NSW School of Biological Earth and Environmental Sciences shows what rip currents are, how to spot them, and what to do if you get stuck in one.
Scenes in this video are from Bondi Beach in Sydney as well as other beaches in the Sydney Area. Beacause Sydney has such a rocky coast line with small coves and bays, there are a lot of rips and dangerous surf conditions, but if you take care and swim between the flags you should always be safe.
Enjoy the ocean. It is one of life's simple pleasures.
Wooli Goanna Pulling Championships
| NSW Travel Blog |
Every October, people gather in Wooli for The Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships. A Goanna is an iconic Australian lizard similar to a monitor lizard that can grow to nearly 2 metres in length.
Goanna Pulling is where 2 people lay facing each other on a mat and perform a tug-o-war, but instead of pulling the rope with their hands they have a leather belt that is around their heads. Then, they arch their backs and push with their hands to pull their opponent across a line like a traditional tugging match.
Wooli has been hosting The Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships every October. 2012 will be Wooli's 26th annual Goanna Pulling Championship.
The Goanna Pulling Championship is a great holiday where lots of things are happening in Wooli: Wood Chopping, Childrens Races, The Wooli Sprint, Brick Carrying, Fireworks and special markets. Goanna Pulling is not just for the men - it's a fun filled experience for all the family.
Wooli is normally a quiet seaside village where you can have a perfect family holiday. Wooli is in the NSW North Coast in the Clarence Valley 30 minutes from Grafton.

Mornington Peninsula is always got a lot of things happening and at the moment, the Snapper are biting in Port Phillip Bay. Snapper season starts around September and goes til Christmas.
Snapper is a great fish to catch and a great fish to eat. They often weigh in around 5 kilos and are typically caught with pilchards, but you'll also find lures working as well as squid and silver whiting.
Best time to get out there is around sunrise, but these fish are abundant now and can be caught throughout the day. You can catch them from boats or from shore. You might try the Frankston Pier for some fun with the kids. Or go a little further south to Dromana Pier.
Rhyll, Corinella, Tooradin, Warneet and all of that area around the top of the Port Phillip Bay has been productive in the start of the season.
Port Phillip Bay: Corio Bay and the Mornington Peninsula are fishing really well for snapper this week and the fish are holding in shallow water. Mornington, Carrum, Mordialloc and Ricketts Point have produced some fantastic reds with pilchards proving the most effective baits at this stage.
Queenscliffe, Point Lonsdale, and Sorrento are also providing some big squid with weights to 2kg.
