postheadericon Safe Swimming on Australian Beaches Avoiding the Rips

Travel Blog - Australian Travel Tips

Going to the beach is one of the main past times in Australia. Many popular beaches are patrolled by surf live saving clubs, but in fact of the 11,000 beaches in Australia only 3 percent of beaches are monitored by life guards.

Learning How to Spot Rip Currents

Rip currents are the greatest hazards on our beaches. This national award-winning video presented by Dr Rob Brander of University NSW School of Biological Earth and Environmental Sciences shows what rip currents are, how to spot them, and what to do if you get stuck in one.

Scenes in this video are from Bondi Beach in Sydney as well as other beaches in the Sydney Area. Beacause Sydney has such a rocky coast line with small coves and bays, there are a lot of rips and dangerous surf conditions, but if you take care and swim between the flags you should always be safe.

Enjoy the ocean. It is one of life's simple pleasures.

V Australia AirlinesAustralia is a big country. While you could travel everywhere by bus or car, the distances are in fact so great that flying is often your best option.

V Australia customers are the most content with their airline service, according to research which found 91 percent of customers were ‘very’ or ‘fairly’ satisfied after their flight for 12 months ending January 2011.

Virgin Blue Group spokesperson said results of the Roy Morgan Research were “outstanding” for a two year old airline.

“We know that we deliver an exceptional international product to our Guests, but it is gratifying to have this news confirmed in an industry report against airlines that have been in business for more than 20 years,” the spokesperson said.

“Guests continually tell us that it is our Cabin and Ground Crew that put V Australia in a class of its own.

“The  Crew  are  warm  and  genuine  in  their  day-to-day  service  delivery,  they  are  very proud of what V Australia has to offer and it shows.”

The spokesperson added that the carrier’s mood lighting has also proved popular with its passengers as well as its inflight menu organised by Australian chef Luke Mangan.

“Our award-winning seat-back entertainment system, RED offers a wealth of entertainment options and a vibrant easy-to-use touch-screen.”

V Australia recently launched service to Abu Dhabi which will open the carrier and its passengers to European destinations.

In the Airline Satisfaction research, the carrier outranked airlines including Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Qantas Airways, Cathay Pacific and Emirates.
