The Adelaide Hills are an easy 20 minute drive southeast of Adelaide and 40 minutes from Adelaide International Airport and Adelaide’s Beach district. Whether you're looking for a day trip or spending a romantic weekend away, you'll find a lot to do in the Adelaide Hills Region.

Hahndorf SAHahndorf is one of the region’s most renowned villages. With its German heritage, Hahndorf offers visitors a unique array of shops, galleries and restaurants. This historic village was settled over 100 years ago and still displays many heritage listed building. Enjoy a fine beer, visit one of the local cellar doors for wine tasting, or sample fresh local produce at one of the markets.

Adelaide Hills are a part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. The largest village in the area is Mt Barker with a population of around ten thousand. There are many National Parks to visit with abundant flora and fauna.

There's always something happening in the Hills - the Adelaide Hills Wine Festival (food and wine), Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival (horse racing), Bay to Birdwood Classic Car Rally, Heysen Festival (arts) or Tour Down Under (cycling).

South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsulais famous for its striking coast line, secluded beaches and unspoilt wildlife. A Mecca for ocean adventure with shipwrecks for diving and snorkeling, whale watching, surfing and fishing. The Heysen Trail is Australia's longest dedicated walking trail traversing over 1200 kilometres starting from Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula and extending to Parachilna Gorge in the Flinders Ranges.

Sellicks Beach Fleurieu PeninsulaThe Fleurieu Peninsula is alive with vibrant and creative festivals, events and art. Some of Australia's best produce and vineyards are in the Fleurieu Peninsula: McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, and Currency Creek. Entertainment, food and wine are found in abundance. The Fleurieu Biennale is a significant arts festival held in November offering one of Australia's richest art prizes of $50,000 for the winning landscape painting.

Getting to the Fleurieu takes about 1 hour by car from Adelaide passing through coastal towns like McClaren Vale, Port Noarlunga, Port Willunga, Maslin Beach, Aldinga and Sellicks Beach. At Wellington, you'll cross the Murray River on a free cable ferry operated by the Department of Transport.

You may decide to stop along the way. With over 50 wineries, the McLaren Vale is one of the largest (and closest to Adelaide) wine regions in South Australia. Each wine region has a distinct character based on soil and proximity to water. Langhorne Creek is a major grape producer of premium wines, while Currency Creek and Southern Fleurieu have some of the oldest and newest boutique wineries in SA.
